Writing the Adaptation was fun, but I wanted to do more.  So, I wrote "Plan 9 From Outer Space - The Prequel," which gives my take on what may have happened before Criswell appeared on screen...

Mickey has no wife, no kids, and no friends to speak of.  One thing he does have, however, is a raging alcohol problem, and it's tearing apart what little of his life he has left.  

One day, when Mickey is bemoaning how he has turned out, he realizes that he has the power to choose differently…  in reverse.  He can't go back in time, but he can change the course his life takes in the future.  All it requires is that he drink just a little bit more.  But the more he drinks, he angrier he gets, and soon he's altering his own destiny at the expense of everyone around him.

Can his coworkers talk Mickey out of destroying the world?
